Davante Adams is a great set and forget it start this week. In most other scenarios (see Amari Cooper) we would suggest benching for a week or two while the receiver gets accustomed to the offense. But not Tae. His rapport with Rodgers may not be what it was from two years ago, but the two are still very familiar with one another’s game. And Rodgers could choose to recognize Tae’s talent, and hyper-target him in the week 7 matchup regardless of gameplan or familiarity with the playbook.
This is Tyrone Tracy’s backfield. The Giants sit at 2-4, and whether or not they want to see what the kid has from a “developmental” standpoint, the Giants could view Tracy as more effective than Devin Singletary anyway. Expect to see Singletary mixed in with the offense, but to not have the dominating touches he had the first few weeks. The Giants need playmaking, and Tracy has certainly displayed his ability as an everydown playmaker from a burst and efficiency standpoint. He’s a great FLEX play with RB2 upside going forward.
This is the week we see what the Chiefs' offensive plan is moving forward. Travis Kelce, Kareem Hunt, and Xavier Worthy all have the chance to prove themselves as fantasy assets moving forward if the Chiefs iron out their offensive schemes over their BYE week. Their new game plan will set the landscape of the Chiefs' touch share moving forward in an offense without Rashee Rice. This week we are advising you to play both Kelce and Hunt, and FLEXing Worthy if you are looking for a huge upside BOOM/BUST play.
We’re excited for Ladd McConkey this week. This Cardinals defense has been very mediocre/below average against receivers. Herbert and the Chargers enter week 7 3-2, a great record in spite of their mediocre offense. McConkey could take a big step up this week, and prove he can play the Keenan Allen role for this offense. We are expecting a TD and 7+ targets for him this week, with hopefully a brighter outlook for the rest of the 2024 season.
The entire Panthers' offensive fantasy assets need to be viewed under a different light. Everyone was hot to trot on both running back Chuba Hubbard and wide receiver Diontae Johnson after the Panthers switched to Andy Dalton. And while they have been decent fantasy plays since the switch (Chuba being a great play), this offense has taken major stepbacks every single week since Dalton took over. They have what should be a great matchup against an abysmal Commanders defense this week, but tamper expectations. We are playing Chuba for obvious reasons, but if you are looking for true upside in your lineup, we’d stray away from Diontae, who likely has a 16-18 point CEILING moving forward.
This Patriots Jaguars game is an interesting one. Both these teams have been wretched this season. But the Patriots should see a large bump with Drake Maye taking over, and the Jaguars being in desperation mode could lead to a more aggressive game plan. While these teams both have bad offenses and defenses, we are expecting the offenses to prevail. Tank Bigsby needs to be in lineups, Brian Thomas Jr should be in lineups, Rhamondre Stevenson (if he plays) should be in lineups, tight ends Hunter Henry and Evan Engram are both decent tight end plays, and Demario Douglas poses as a fine FLEX play this week with big upside moving forward.
Raheem Mostert might be the only playable Dolphins offensive player. He is actually built for a ground-and-pound game, which should be exactly what the Dolphins draw up on offense. If he gets 19+ touches (like he did last week) he could be a viable FLEX play because of his touchdown upside and efficiency. Outside of him, it’s gross for this team without Tua, and we would continue to bench most other options, including Tyreek and Waddle, and maybe even Achane if you have other options.
Don’t sleep on Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku. We saw how spectacular Njoku was last season with a significant target share, and now we will get to see Jeudy with a WR1 target share. With no other options to go to, we expect Deshaun Watson to target Njoku and Jeudy at a very high rate this week. Njoku must be in lineups, and Jeudy is a sneaky high-upside FLEX play.
Oh and don’t play a single player from this Thursday night game, except Kamara.
