Fantasy Draft Season has officially kicked off, and this is your place to see what is trending week in and week out up until the NFL Kick-Off.
We have talked about the importance of mock drafts to prepare, but we have also kept a close eye on ADP and where movement is happening week to week. We will deliver that right here each week.
What are the big headlines for this week:
QBs all moving down
RBs are making some small moves up
WR mostly stable
QB Value is being grabbed already as we saw Jalen Hurts drop -5 spots to 32.3 overall ADP average and Josh Allen drop about 4 spots to 21.3. Of the Top 22 QBs on ADP, only 2 moved up this week: A. Richardson up 1.3 to 49.7 and Kyler Murray +2.3 spots to 67.7. As a reminder, we are much lower than others on Hurts, and we are a touch higher than most on Richardson. Kyler has been looking like an outstanding value in the 6th-7th Rounds, but he could keep pushing higher. The bottom line here is that if you don't chase a top quarterback, you can wait and wait and wait.
Running Backs moved mostly higher, with the headline here probably being Achane dropping down 2 spots to 22.7 while his running mate R. Mostert moved up 9.5 spots to 74. This will be an interesting one to watch in the coming weeks as we all try to figure out if Achane will hold off Mostert for #1 in the backfield and remain healthy or if Mostert will keep drinking from the fountain of youth and defy the odds.
Other Notable RB Moves this week:
D. Henry up 3.5 to 20
I.Pacheco up 7.3 spots to 24.7
J. Mixon up 6.2 to 42.3
J.Conner up 6.5 to 60
D. Montgomery up 8.2 to 61.3
Z. White up 6 to 68
WR moves were mostly down and some could start to be meaningful. Puka moved down 2 spot to 12.3, while his teammate Cooper Kupp moves up 2 spots to 39. Amon Ra drops one spot in the Top 10 to 7.7 while J. Chase gets some momentum and moves up a spot to 5.7 overall ADP.
Other Notable WR Moves this week:
Nico Collins -32. to 30.7
DeVonta Smith -5.5 to 48
C. Godwin -7.2 to 77.7
Jayden Reed -7.3 to 83.3
J. Addison -6.8 to 95.3
See the start of the trend above. All #2 or #3 Receiver options above. Drafters are paying a premium to lock down the #1 WR at the top of the class but are slowly starting to fade the #2 or #3 options on a team. Can an offense really support 2 or 3 Top Fantasy Receivers? Stay tuned on that question, and we will be back with a full look at the history of what works and how to target teams with more than 1 potential Top Fantasy WR.
A couple of other things to note this week:
Sam LaPorta dropped 2.5 spots to 25th, and Kelce moved up 2 spots to 27th. See our Instagram post about not drafting LaPorta at these levels. Too many TEs can get it done for you this year. You don't need a top-tier TE, and the advantage they used to provide over the fields is not as strong.
Rookie pass catchers Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowere both dropped out of the Top 100, moving down 10 spots.
Good luck with any drafts you have this week!
